5QF 7-20-2012

First and Foremost, Happy 44th Anniversary to my parents! Amazing, wonderful, inspiring!!

So Mama M decided to go on vacation, and all. Jees, how rude. But she did get the amazing and wonderful Kate to host this weeks Five Question Friday for her. So join in, its fun!!

1. What do you call them? Flip flops, thongs, sandals, etc.
Most of the time, I call them flippers. And if not flip flops. By best friend has always called them flippers and I can't remember when, but one day I noticed I did too!

Thongs are underwear, sandals are just shoes.

2. Are you a "My kid can do no wrong" kind of mom, or "Johnny hit me. Well what did you do first"

I think I am somewhere down the road. Baby Bug is a trouble maker. The sweetest trouble maker you will ever meet, but still a trouble maker. And most of the time, if he comes crying, its usually because Love Bug has done something to him. 99% of the time, what he did to her first.

Love Bug on the other hand is the opposite. She is a really good kid, and very rarely does anything wrong. Especially on purpose. She may do something on accident and not know it was wrong, but as far as hitting, biting, kicking, etc, usually she is on the taking end, not the giving end.

3. Would you confront a good friend who looks down on your husband/significant other?

Honestly, probably not. But what I would do is begin to separate myself from that friend. And usually I am a person who will confront somebody. I don't have a problem with that at all. But, if that person is looking down on my husband, they are in turn looking down on me. I don't expect everybody to like my husband, (shoot sometimes I don't even like him!! :) ) but, you are respectful of your friends, and their spouses. Fake it if you have to. We do that with friends who we like, but not their spouses. And that's ok.

4. What's your biggest pet peeve?
I think I have 2. Lying, and whining. Both just are unacceptable, and completely preventable. You choose to do both. So around me, don't do either!!

5. What's your favorite take out meal?
We have 2, Pizza and chinese.
Pretty much we get pizza every Thursday night.  And our favorite chinese food is located in town, so we dont' get that very often, but when we do, it is a treat!!

Alright, busy weekend ahead! Hope you all have a great one. Send your thoughts and prayers to those in Colorado. Awful, just awful!

Happy Friday! What a crazy week. After my BFF's son got injured, I took over care for her daughter (who is the same age as Love Bug), but it just meant I one more person to take care of. All good, love her to pieces, just a little unexpected. No worries though, that sweet boy is at home and recovering nicely. Going to be a long 4 weeks for him without his "feet leaving the ground". Drs orders.

Anywho, on to Mama M's Five Question Friday!

1. What's your view on men wearing sandals (yay or nay)? Nope. The only thing that is acceptable is flip flops. "Jesus" sandles? Hell no! Granoa looking sandles? Super hell no! Sandles with socks? Well that is just a hell to the freaking no!

2. What song do you love but are embarrassed to admit? Call Me Maybe. Shut up

3. What summer camp should they make for moms?  I think the same type they make for kids. Art camp, theater camp, cooking camps, sports camps. And most importantly spa camps. where we go and get pampered all week. Massages, body was, pedis, manis, facials, etc.

4. What is the most romantic song? (Not necessarily your favorite or your wedding song...) I was listening to my iPad last night and the Lionel Ritchie country compilation album was playing. While I had heard this one song a thousand times before in my life, for some reason, I realized that Lady, which was written by Lionel Ritchie and sung by Kenny Rogers, has tobe the sweetest, most heartfelt, loving song, I have ever heard.

5. Do you have an embarrassing pregnancy story? Sometimes I wish I did, but not I don't. No pee leakage, no boob leakage, no horrible pooping while pushing, even though I'm 100% sure I did. My pregnancies were very boring (until the end, but nothing embarrassing). Y'all know me, if I did, I would tell you!

Happy weekend. Taking it easy around here with a little swimming and that's about it. Was supposed to go out with my BFF, but I'm thinking she will wanna stay home and love on her boy, who is lucky all he ended up with is a concussion. And not a broken skull. Freak accidents, he wasn't even doing anything crazy, just hit a rock and flew over his handle bars. Hug your babies! Let em play, but keep em safe with helmets!!

5QF July 5,2012

TWO QUESTIONS?!?!?! TWO FREAKING QUESTIONS?!?!?!? That's right folks, Mama M picked not one, but 2 of my questions!! Score one (or 2) for me!

1. Is love at 1st sight possible?
You know, I used to think so. And I still think of something to that effect. But I don't think it is at first sight. I think maybe at first meeting. And maybe not necessarily love, but the fact that you know that that person will be someone important in your life, or will be a friend or more.

2. How did you choose your pet's name?
I honestly don't remember. We're we're just throwing around a bunch of names, and for whatever reason one of em stuck. We have dog, and she is 12 years old. Sweet, old girl. Not for sure how much longer she will be around.

3. What are you considering giving up (cable, home phone)?
Not really anything. We actually just added the movie channels to our satellite, only because they screwed up my bill, and gave us a whole bunch of channels for $5 a month for 6 months. After that, we will be dropping those movie channels.

4. How much do pay your babysitter?
$10 hour no matter if that is one kid or 2. We have 3 different babysitters that we use, and they range in age from 17-22 and we pay them all 3 the same, unless it is an overnight thing.

5. How "young" is old enough to babysit?
Well, I prefer mine to be at least 16. It helps for driving purposes. But I will allow them to be younger, if it is just my older one. She is pretty self sufficient and can take care of most of her own needs. We have a neighbor who has a 15 yo daughter, and I will allow her to babysit during the day, only if her parents are home as well.

Well, now y'all have a great weekend, it is Friday right? My days are all jacked up due to a holiday in the middle of the week!

5QF 6-29-12

It's Friday! And not just any Friday, Friday before a holiday, which is like extra special Friday!! And Mama M  picked one of my questions this week! Woo hoo!!

Let's get going!

1. What's your favorite childhood snack that you still eat as an adult?
Fudge Rounds, Swiss Cake Rolls, and Oatmeal Cream pies by Little Debbie. Do you have these? OMG, so incredibly good, and yet so bad for you at the same time!

2. What food will you not eat the low fat version of?
Lost of things. Most of the time, low fat is ofter worse for you as it has chemicals instead. I can't think of anything in particluar.

3. What's your favorite way to cool off during the summer?
With a cool beverage in a pool. Always relaxing and keeps me cool. But seeing as I don't have a pool, I don't get to do that very often.

4. What's your favorite summer read?
I don't have a certain Summer read, just a read in general. Yea, you guessed it. Fifty Shades. It's pretty much good anytime of the year. :)

5. What are you doing to stay cool in this awful heat?
Well, it isn't awful heat for us just yet. Its still normal summer heat. When it starts getting above 105, then it is awful. But either way, it is still hot. Mostly staying inside. Which drives my kids crazy, but lots of crafts, and popsicles make em happy!

Alrighty, go get your America on (unless you are Kate, and then you go get your Canada on I guess), and everybody have a great holiday!

5QF 6/8/12

How is possible that one week of summer is already gone! If the rest of the summer goes this quickly, I'm going to be getting ready for 1st grade soon! Plus, I was in Children's Place this week and they already have their fall line out? What is that about?

So because it is Friday, that means it is time for Five Question Friday over at Mama M's

1. Did you do anything special for your kids on the last day of school? Or did you parents do anything special for you?
This year Love Bug was in Kindergarten, so I wanted to do something, but not too big as to set a prescedent. So, they got out at 11:00 that day, and me and her best friend, (who happens to be my best friends daughter), went to lunch, and then to the yogurt store, and then the girls came back here to play. Fun for them. I don't remember my mom and dad doing anything special until college. Then on the last day of my last class of my college career, my mom, sister, best friend (yes same friend as above) all went and got drunk to celebrate. That was pretty memorable!

2. What's your favorite summer tradition with your children?
I don't know that we have one thing in particular that is our favorite. Eating Popsicles, playing in the water, shooting fireworks at 4th of July. We have lots of fun things that we do, but nothing that is a tradition.

3. What was your favorite thing to do during the summer as a kid?
Going to Camp Ozark each year for 8 years straight. Ozark is a Chrisitian sports adventure camp in Arkansas and I went every year for 2 weeks. I made so many friends, had so much fun. Learned so much about myself, and who I am, who I wanted to be. It was a great experience, and I know my kids will be going as well.

4. How old were you when you were married? Were you a Bridezilla?
I feel like such an old bride, and I know that I'm wasn't. I was 28. And I guess the reason I felt so old is that we started dating 9 years before we got married. I guess he wasn't for sure, I don't know what took him so long. We bought a house 2 years before we got married which is weird. I don't think I was a bridezilla until about 2 weeks before. And then I got a little crazy bitch! :)

5. What is your favorite girl name?
Well, I didn't have to narrow down names when I found out Love Bug was a girl. My husband's grandmother was very special to him, and she died years ago. And we knew before we knew Love Bug was a girl, what we would name her. But with Baby Bug, if he would have been a girl, I thought of Audrey. And that was it. I had no other names. And since then, I have never thought bout any name since then. Sorry, I'm no help.

Alright, go join  the Five Question Friday fun! I'm headed to the Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and Jake Owen concert tomorrow night at Cowboys Stadium. I have never been there, but I hear its pretty cool. My 3 girlfriends and I are going and making a mini weekend out of it. Leaving early tomorrow, going to the hotel and staying as long as we can on Sunday. Mini girls trip? I think so!!!

5-4-12 5QF

Can I just tell yall how excited I am about this weeks Five Question Friday? I seriously, cannot WAIT to see everyones pics. So far, all I have seen is Mama M's , and man that is a sexy purlpe and white dress. With lace. Yes, I said lace.!!!

1. What did you wear to prom? Include a picture if possible.
Well, this is circa 1993 and it was my boyfriend of 2 years Jason, and we thought we were the BOMB. Hair on top of my head, matching shoes, I mean dang, can you get any better? Oh wait, it does. Head to toe in sequins. Gold no less.

The best part? My sister wore this about 10 years ago as Ginger from Gilligans Island for Halloween. You know you have a great prom dress when it can be reworn as a Halloween costume.

2. Would you rather be on the biggest loser or a food eating challenge?
Ugh, dang Scott. Neither. I like to do CrossFit, and if Bob Harper was my coach, I would be ALL.OVER.IT because now he does CF on the Biggers Loser. But that would be the only way.

And I am a pretty picky eater, so putting me on a food challenge show would be difficult. Unless it was a dessert eating contest. Then challenge me all you want.

3. Done fave sonic drink? Refreshing summer drink? (Hey, Kristina...was that a typo, or some "done good" Southern thing?)
Does it have to be non alcoholic? Sonic Cherry Limeade no questions asked.
If not, then I love margaritas, Sangria, swirls (daquiri/margarita combo).

4. What was your first car, and what did you call it?
1984 Chevy Blazer. Yup, even found a pic of it.

Paid $4500 for this jewel. My dad made an agreement with my sister and I that whatever money we had saved up by the time we were 16, he would match, and that would be the car we could afford. Well since my sister was 4 years older than me, I saw the POS that she got, because she didn't save any money. Let me tell you how much babysitting I did to save up. Yup, $2200. Man, if I could only do that now as easily!!!

5. What's one thing your child or spouse does that sends you over the edge?
Whining and complaining. No matter who it is, my kids or my husband. Whining makes my want to crawl out of my skin. Even other peoples kids. The tone of voice, the long drawn out syllables....but MMMOOOOOOOMMM ugh!!

Complaining is a big one of mine, and I think it is because my kids (mainly my oldest) needs to learn that they have it pretty good. They don't want or need for anything, so complaining about how bad something is, or how they want something, etc, makes me so upset. They have no idea how good they have it, and I know that is something that my husband and I have to teach them, and we are working on it. But don't complain to me about how you don't like something.

Get over it!

5qf 4-27-12

Happy Friday! I have had a crazy week. I was in Houston for three days, came home, had 10 women at my house, then Thursday was our anniversary. I'm pooped!! Jump on over to Mama Ms blog, and join the fun!!

1. Do you make your kids finish all the food on their plates? No, I don't. I make them try everything, but they don't have to finish. I never had to do that, and I don't want my kids growing up believing they have to clean their plates.

2. Do you give an allowance? Well Love Bug is only 6 so we are just starting to do chores. Right now when I was the load of towels, if she folds them she gets .50. And that's it. But this summer, while she is home, she is going to be doing more chores, and we will do an allowance for her.

3. Do you actually park your car in the garage? We have 3 cars, and a three car garage. And only 1 car is in the garage. Mine. My husbands truck is too tall, and his car is on the patio which is covered and has a slope to drive up on. In the garage is a 30 ft smoker, and all kinds of kid stuff and my Tahoe. That's it.

4. What is one food you will NEVER cook? Fish. I hate the smell of it. I mean fresh fish. Not fish sticks. Or shrimp. That's ok. But salmon or halibut, stuff like that, never will that be cooked in my house!

5. Do you have anything exciting planned for the summer? We are going on a road trip in Texas and will probably end up in San Antonio going to Sea World but that is it. Disney is back on the schedule for fall as my husbands foot is healing nicely!! Happy Friday! Have a great weekend!
