It's Friday! And not just any Friday, Friday before a holiday, which is like extra special Friday!! And Mama M picked one of my questions this week! Woo hoo!!
Let's get going!
1. What's your favorite childhood snack that you still eat as an adult?
Fudge Rounds, Swiss Cake Rolls, and Oatmeal Cream pies by Little Debbie. Do you have these? OMG, so incredibly good, and yet so bad for you at the same time!
2. What food will you not eat the low fat version of?
Lost of things. Most of the time, low fat is ofter worse for you as it has chemicals instead. I can't think of anything in particluar.
3. What's your favorite way to cool off during the summer?
With a cool beverage in a pool. Always relaxing and keeps me cool. But seeing as I don't have a pool, I don't get to do that very often.
4. What's your favorite summer read?
I don't have a certain Summer read, just a read in general. Yea, you guessed it. Fifty Shades. It's pretty much good anytime of the year. :)
5. What are you doing to stay cool in this awful heat?
Well, it isn't awful heat for us just yet. Its still normal summer heat. When it starts getting above 105, then it is awful. But either way, it is still hot. Mostly staying inside. Which drives my kids crazy, but lots of crafts, and popsicles make em happy!
Alrighty, go get your America on (unless you are Kate, and then you go get your Canada on I guess), and everybody have a great holiday!

5QF 6/8/12
How is possible that one week of summer is already gone! If the rest of the summer goes this quickly, I'm going to be getting ready for 1st grade soon! Plus, I was in Children's Place this week and they already have their fall line out? What is that about?
So because it is Friday, that means it is time for Five Question Friday over at Mama M's
1. Did you do anything special for your kids on the last day of school? Or did you parents do anything special for you?
This year Love Bug was in Kindergarten, so I wanted to do something, but not too big as to set a prescedent. So, they got out at 11:00 that day, and me and her best friend, (who happens to be my best friends daughter), went to lunch, and then to the yogurt store, and then the girls came back here to play. Fun for them. I don't remember my mom and dad doing anything special until college. Then on the last day of my last class of my college career, my mom, sister, best friend (yes same friend as above) all went and got drunk to celebrate. That was pretty memorable!
2. What's your favorite summer tradition with your children?
I don't know that we have one thing in particular that is our favorite. Eating Popsicles, playing in the water, shooting fireworks at 4th of July. We have lots of fun things that we do, but nothing that is a tradition.
3. What was your favorite thing to do during the summer as a kid?
Going to Camp Ozark each year for 8 years straight. Ozark is a Chrisitian sports adventure camp in Arkansas and I went every year for 2 weeks. I made so many friends, had so much fun. Learned so much about myself, and who I am, who I wanted to be. It was a great experience, and I know my kids will be going as well.
4. How old were you when you were married? Were you a Bridezilla?
I feel like such an old bride, and I know that I'm wasn't. I was 28. And I guess the reason I felt so old is that we started dating 9 years before we got married. I guess he wasn't for sure, I don't know what took him so long. We bought a house 2 years before we got married which is weird. I don't think I was a bridezilla until about 2 weeks before. And then I got a little crazy bitch! :)
5. What is your favorite girl name?
Well, I didn't have to narrow down names when I found out Love Bug was a girl. My husband's grandmother was very special to him, and she died years ago. And we knew before we knew Love Bug was a girl, what we would name her. But with Baby Bug, if he would have been a girl, I thought of Audrey. And that was it. I had no other names. And since then, I have never thought bout any name since then. Sorry, I'm no help.
Alright, go join the Five Question Friday fun! I'm headed to the Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and Jake Owen concert tomorrow night at Cowboys Stadium. I have never been there, but I hear its pretty cool. My 3 girlfriends and I are going and making a mini weekend out of it. Leaving early tomorrow, going to the hotel and staying as long as we can on Sunday. Mini girls trip? I think so!!!

Can I just tell yall how excited I am about this weeks Five Question Friday? I seriously, cannot WAIT to see everyones pics. So far, all I have seen is Mama M's , and man that is a sexy purlpe and white dress. With lace. Yes, I said lace.!!!
1. What did you wear to prom? Include a picture if possible.
Well, this is circa 1993 and it was my boyfriend of 2 years Jason, and we thought we were the BOMB. Hair on top of my head, matching shoes, I mean dang, can you get any better? Oh wait, it does. Head to toe in sequins. Gold no less.
The best part? My sister wore this about 10 years ago as Ginger from Gilligans Island for Halloween. You know you have a great prom dress when it can be reworn as a Halloween costume.
2. Would you rather be on the biggest loser or a food eating challenge?
Ugh, dang Scott. Neither. I like to do CrossFit, and if Bob Harper was my coach, I would be ALL.OVER.IT because now he does CF on the Biggers Loser. But that would be the only way.
And I am a pretty picky eater, so putting me on a food challenge show would be difficult. Unless it was a dessert eating contest. Then challenge me all you want.
3. Done fave sonic drink? Refreshing summer drink? (Hey, Kristina...was that a typo, or some "done good" Southern thing?)
Does it have to be non alcoholic? Sonic Cherry Limeade no questions asked.
If not, then I love margaritas, Sangria, swirls (daquiri/margarita combo).
4. What was your first car, and what did you call it?
1984 Chevy Blazer. Yup, even found a pic of it.
Paid $4500 for this jewel. My dad made an agreement with my sister and I that whatever money we had saved up by the time we were 16, he would match, and that would be the car we could afford. Well since my sister was 4 years older than me, I saw the POS that she got, because she didn't save any money. Let me tell you how much babysitting I did to save up. Yup, $2200. Man, if I could only do that now as easily!!!
5. What's one thing your child or spouse does that sends you over the edge?
Whining and complaining. No matter who it is, my kids or my husband. Whining makes my want to crawl out of my skin. Even other peoples kids. The tone of voice, the long drawn out syllables....but MMMOOOOOOOMMM ugh!!
Complaining is a big one of mine, and I think it is because my kids (mainly my oldest) needs to learn that they have it pretty good. They don't want or need for anything, so complaining about how bad something is, or how they want something, etc, makes me so upset. They have no idea how good they have it, and I know that is something that my husband and I have to teach them, and we are working on it. But don't complain to me about how you don't like something.
Get over it!

Happy Friday! I have had a crazy week. I was in Houston for three days, came home, had 10 women at my house, then Thursday was our anniversary. I'm pooped!!
Jump on over to Mama Ms blog, and join the fun!!
1. Do you make your kids finish all the food on their plates? No, I don't. I make them try everything, but they don't have to finish. I never had to do that, and I don't want my kids growing up believing they have to clean their plates.
2. Do you give an allowance? Well Love Bug is only 6 so we are just starting to do chores. Right now when I was the load of towels, if she folds them she gets .50. And that's it. But this summer, while she is home, she is going to be doing more chores, and we will do an allowance for her.
3. Do you actually park your car in the garage? We have 3 cars, and a three car garage. And only 1 car is in the garage. Mine. My husbands truck is too tall, and his car is on the patio which is covered and has a slope to drive up on. In the garage is a 30 ft smoker, and all kinds of kid stuff and my Tahoe. That's it.
4. What is one food you will NEVER cook? Fish. I hate the smell of it. I mean fresh fish. Not fish sticks. Or shrimp. That's ok. But salmon or halibut, stuff like that, never will that be cooked in my house!
5. Do you have anything exciting planned for the summer? We are going on a road trip in Texas and will probably end up in San Antonio going to Sea World but that is it. Disney is back on the schedule for fall as my husbands foot is healing nicely!! Happy Friday! Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday the 13th! Do y'all believe that today is an unlucky day? I don't. Never got into that. Except when I was a teenager, always had to watch a Friday the 13th movie. It's Friday and I just realized that Mama M picked one of my questions, and it is 10:08 at night, so I still have a little bit of time to answer my questions. So here we go!
1. Who mows your grass?
We have a lawn service that comes. We have about 2 acres, but about .5 that is our "yard", and we don't even own a mower. When we moved from the city, we had a service that came to our house there because they only charged $20/ week to move. Heck of a deal, so we never bought one. We moved to the country, and just found another service. Lazy, I know
2. Do you have a picture wall or picture gallery in your house (show us! <--- my addition to the question)?
Kinda. The hallway that is outside the kids bedroom is filled with all of their yearly pictures. Except Baby Bug, he has some of his months pictures as well. No, not gonna show you the picture. No kids on my blog. Sorry!
3. What book has influenced your thinking the most? Or, what blog? (I want to read what gets people thinking!)
Well, I'm not much of a reader, but I do like to read about other peoples stuff. More of a blog reader than a book. I need to get in, get out, and move on. The blogs I read most frequently on are on my blog roll. Check em out!
4. Do you have allergies? If so, how do you handle it this time of year?
If yall could hear me right now, you would know the answer to that. I even went and got a steroid shot today to clear this junk up. I think they call it a 6 and 60 shot. Heaven in my hip!
I used to get allergy shots for about 4 years, and I was allergy free for about 10 years. But slowly they have worn off, and now April and May are horrible for me. I am allergic to cottonwood and pecan. And they both bloom at the same time. Come about June 1 I will be good to go!
5. What's your go to meal to cook in an hurry?
Breakfast. I always have eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits (or croissant rolls) in my house. Always! So if need something quick, I can have that ready in 10 minutes!
Alright y'all! We have birthday party bonanza all day tomorrow. (not my kids, but going to parties)!! Have a great weekend!

5QF 3/23/2012
After a week of dreary, cooler, rainy weather, today is GORGEOUS outside! 77 and sunshine! Yeah!! And the weekend is supposed to be even better! Happy Friday! Jump over to Mama M's and join in the fun!
1. If you were free to just hop in the car and drive, where would you go? Or, if you could hop a plane and go anywhere, where?
As shocking as this sounds, I would head to a beach. I know, I NEVER NEVER NEVER want to go to a beach. But I need the sounds of waves crashing, I want to lay and get a tan, (dang, I am WHITE!!), and I want to drink a fruity alcohol filled drink.
I think with my husband having surgery last week, our life has been crazy, and I have been a wee-bit overwhelmed, so crashing waves, sun, and a drink sound might good right about now.
2. What's your most recently read favorite book?
Without a doubt, 100% no questions asked, Fifty Shades series. I know, its smut, it has some BDSM in it, but man oh man, it is the best story line EVER. I mean people say its porn, well its not, its sex. And if you don't like sex, then skim over that part. It's only a page or two at a time. It's not like that is the entire book. You could take out that part of the book, and the story line would still be amazing.
3. What's your favorite Spring Break memory?
In college, (or maybe high school), skiing with a t-shirt, sunglasses, boxers, and long johns, because it was sooooo nice. Carefree, fearless (read: stupid), and enjoyed every minute of it.
4. What do you put in your child's Easter basket? Or, for those w/o kids, what was put in your childhood basket?
I don't put candy in them. Mainly games, or toys, or goodies. This year, I hit up the $ section at Target, and went crazy. Like stupid crazy, but they had so much cute stuff for both of my kids, so it worked out great!
5. Do you get a summer haircut?
Not a haircut, but I do go a little blonder. Matter of fact, got my hair did today, and I LOVE it! In the winter, I let it get more natural, with just a FEW blonde highlights, and more brown highlights. But today, we did LOTS more blonde, and a few brown, and then brown underneath.
LOVE IT!!
LOVE IT!!
Big weekend around here. Errr really just for me. There is a big Crossfit to-do in the area this weekend, so I am going to check that out, while my husband, babysitter, and the kids hang out. I know, its not fair, but at least I got him a babysitter, so he will not have to take care of the kids. :)
I'm nice like that!!
Happy Friday yall!!

Five Question Friday 3/16/2012
Happy iPad Friday to Mama M . I know that she has been waiting for her iPad!! Also happy Five Question Friday! Here we go!
1. Will you run to the store or to pick up a kid looking a mess?
Absolutely! I workout every morning so many times I am out in workout clothes, post workout, all kinds of hot and sweaty! Doesn't matter to me.
2. Do you finish a book if it's boring or you don't like it?
Nope! And I am not a reader, so I really have to like it in order to read it. My smut book that I have been reading? Can't put it down.
3. Beach or mountain vacations?
Mountains, always mountains. Except, if I don't have to get in the water. Give me a beach, with a fruity drink, and I will lay there all day long and do nothing!
4. What thing/event says "winter will end and spring is right around the corner" to you?
Bluebonnets showing up on the side of the highway! What is a bluebonnet you might ask? Well it is the state flower of Texas and it looks like this:
When they start showing up on the side of the road, it is a sure sign spring is on the way. And guess what? They showed up last week!!!
5. Would you prefer couples or family vacation?
Well, usually I would say couples, but I am so excited to take my kids to Disneyworld, I can't wait!! We have changed our trip (since my husband had surgery this week) to the fall (don't want to go in the summer!) so now we can start planning!
Ok, have a great Friday!!
